How it works

Pick the Stopwatch, Timer or Clock tab at the top.

On the stopwatch, press Start (or the space bar) and use Lap to record splits.

On the timer, choose a quick time (1, 5, 10 min…) or type hours, minutes and seconds, then press Start.

When time is up the alarm rings and the browser tab shows “Time's up!”. Press Stop alarm.

Use Full screen for classrooms, gyms or meetings, and change the panel color and alarm sound.

Online stopwatch with laps

Measure elapsed time to the hundredth of a second and record laps with split and total times. The fastest lap is highlighted in green and the slowest in orange.

Countdown timer with alarm

Set 1, 5, 10, 15, 30 minutes, 1 hour or any custom time up to 99 hours. Choose a bell, beep or digital alarm, adjust the volume and add a minute with +1 min without restarting.

Full-screen clock and world clock

The Clock tab shows your exact local time and date plus the current time in New York, London, Paris, Dubai, Tokyo and Sydney. Full screen mode makes the digits readable from across the room.

Frequently asked questions

Is the online stopwatch free?

Yes. The site is supported by ads, so you never pay or need to create an account.

Does it keep counting if I close or refresh the tab?

Yes. The start time is saved in your browser, so when you come back the stopwatch and timer show the correct time. Nothing is sent to a server.

Will the timer alarm ring in a background tab?

Yes. The timer checks the end time even while you use other tabs and rings when it finishes. The tab title also shows the time left. On phones, keep the screen on, since some devices pause pages when locked.

Which keyboard shortcuts are available?

Space starts and pauses, L records a lap, R resets and F toggles full screen.

Can I export my lap times?

Yes. Press Export CSV to download the laps and open them in Excel or Google Sheets.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes. The page adapts to your screen and does not require installing any app.
